Our story began 20 years ago, born from the inspiration to embark on something that would make me feel fulfilled and happy, something that would allow me to do something for others.
The idea was born in 2006, because I watched my grandparents and aunts and uncles grow old and wondered, "How can I help them?" They had always taught me the importance of serving others. I learned that all human beings, by nature, are on this planet to serve, and with that inspiration, I asked myself, "How can I serve a community that, for many reasons, sometimes becomes isolated?" With that goal in mind, I observed our community in California, discovering that older adults were segmented into smaller groups and that there weren't adequate spaces for seniors to live with young couples, for example. This realization helped me understand how important older adults are to this society and to discover the need to create a space specifically designed to meet their needs and provide them with care.
The idea, planning, management, and professionalization involved three years of daily effort, training, adapting spaces, obtaining permits, and specialization prior to opening. Finally, with the support of my family and team, in 2009 we opened Mimis Guest Home to the public to serve seniors, people over 60 years old, on Calle Escuela, where it remains to this day.
Since then, our vision has involved ongoing planning to understand what seniors would like, where and how they live, and how they enjoy life. At Mimis Guest Home, we primarily serve local seniors, so they have a lifestyle connected to the sea, enjoying walks and fresh air, strolls near the beach, and savoring meals of fish, seafood, and all kinds of foods they enjoyed in their youth. That's what we do here: provide them with everything they have enjoyed throughout their lives, within a framework of safety for their health and physical well-being.
Our facility is designed to accommodate up to five residents in private or shared rooms, providing them with 24/7 care and attention.
To achieve this, Mimis Guest Home employs a professional staff that receives ongoing training, ensuring you can have complete confidence that your loved one is being cared for by the best: us.
